Amazing box! slaps the dreamboxes out the water....

And yes ive owned a clone dm800 and original 7020.

Best box i have ever owned.

    More stable
    Better build
    Quicker
Looks like a real piece of kit rather then a dreambox(freeview looking)
    Remote works better

Even packaging and carboard box is 100 times better!!!

Save up a little more and go for the VU Duo !!!

no doubt a great box, ideal if you want to record one channel while watching another channel, if not go for an 800,,,,

        it takes a 3.5" sata,, a laptop is 2.5"

It takes a 3.5" SATA drive as mentioned, up to 2TB in size. You can also use an external eSATA and USB drive if you you prefer.

EPG plugins work great yes, which one you use may depend on the image you choose to use, I normally use the Rytec EPG plugin which works with all the popular images, you are also probably best to store the EPG data on a USB stick rather than the HDD as it makes for smoother use (no waiting the 1sec or so it takes the HDD to come to life), same thing applies for picons.

not getting the full use out of this poor box ,i know firmware is old and needs updating, but i may have a wireless glitch causing freezing, going to run cat 5 to over come that problem and yes i like it,wonder what dream elite problems lie ahead with closure?

Yes it's only twin tuner of course so you could only record from two completely seperate feeds at any one time, but that could be several channels from two feeds providing they are on the same transponder.

check out you tube mate they can be 2 differnt transponders but it seems to work i dont think many people would have the need to to record 6 channells at the 1 time but nice to have the option i suppose

                          Vu+ Duo Hard Drive

Really impressed with what I've read about this box. Defo going to buy one in the next couple of days. Has anyone got any suggestions for a good compatible hard drive - I was looking around a 1tb drive? I thought something like
                          Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache

                          Thanks.
