cant get signal on freesat tv

    hi guys

can someone tell me where im going wrong with my freesat tv. i have installed my dish and used my sat finder to find signal strength however, my tv shows 10 for both signal quality and strength for about 3 seconds then vanishes. it then shows astra 2 satellite not found. i checked the multimap and got these figures...

    lat: 55:52:18N (55.87172)
    long:3:57:04W (-3.95119)

looking at my settings im a little confused on what to adjust on satellite. with my settings around 60 on the motor and i think around 30 on the dish with signal strength showing full on the sat signal tester. im a little lost here

it looks a little low to me,does any of your neighbours have sky installed? look at the way theirs is pointing and do a near enough adjustment

In your 0007 pic in #2 you have an incorrect latitude set its 62 degrees. It should be set to your location latitude and the same latitude set in your box.you will then have to adjust the dish angle to get your signal back.I would put 56.0N on your motor and set top box.and 4.0W in the stb.

Hi Kaka, are you doing this just to get the freesat @28.2 E mate ?
what box do you have ?

I ask because if you are going to be using your motor it is far easier to set upto 1w and go from there

Ok,I gotta go but dick is a top bloke and he will sort you out probably around late morning tomorrow.
If you only want 28.2E take the motor off.If you are going to be using the motor, set it up to 1w.
On your box drive the motor to 1w,then use dishpointer.com to see where approx it is from your house, get up there with your meter and bring it in.If you hve the correct settings in your motor menu everything else will fall into place if you get 1W aligned correctly.

sounds to me now that you have got the sat on your box and the sat youve got the dish aligned to mismatched.
            Ive done it

good luck, the boys will get you there but if you tell them your box they will be able to help you quicker.
            Great pictures btw

yeah dish scales are not usually any good you just need to adjust it up/down to get a result and I know triax dishes are difficult to move slowly and its easy to overshoot.as "old bloke"says if you give a bit more info on what you want we can help you better.Have a read of the stickies on setting up motorised dishes and this guide I"m posting(its for std TMs but will give an indication of whats needed) satellite does need a bit of work but its worth it.

Its just dawned on me that you may not be using a stb at all but just trying to connect a motor to a freesat TV direct if this is the case your better off doing what"old bloke"(I think he twigged it) says and removing the motor as the tv wont support a motor.better still get a set top box and bypass the tv tuner and you can then have the use of a lot of sats up there.

yeah I"ve just posted in your other thread.how is your tv connected to the dish? is it from looping through the DM if so the DM would have to be on standby probably.if its off the tv will get no signal.you would be better off using a seperate fixed dish for the tv.
