Small Satellite Dish Setup Help !

    Hi All,
I am in the north west area and would like to know if it is possible to have a small dish and motor and be able to still get a good range of satellite's.
With me living on an estate I am a bit worried about neighbours complaining.
Any help on a small setup would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Guy's !

i live in the NW too, rochdale coucil say you can have a 1.1m dish with out planning permission, check with the coucil they all have similar rules.

yes you can run a small dish but it depends what you want to watch / do. 60cm will pick up 13 19 and 28.2.

the bigger the better.... when it comes to satellite dishes at least..

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

Also having your dish too low when attached to your house can cause friction between you & your neighbours, i know a family that have a 1.1mtr Triax fixed over the front door, as it overhangs a public footpath they are being told to remove it by the Council ! Try and put it up out of harms way, and do not allow any part of it to be higher that the top of your roof ( another rule often broken ) If you do it correctly and within the guidelines set out by your local Council, you can tell your neighbours that you will be fitting a Dish, and it will be installed within Council regulations..So they will know from the start that complaining will get them nowhere.

                  Thanks guys !
I will be going for a 1m motorised dish I think.
I just need to figure out now the best dish, lnb and motor as I have trees in my south facing view.
                  Cheers !

Use this site to determine whether the trees are actually in your line of site for the satellites that you hope to receive and make sure you tick the obstacle box to check the max height of obstacles ie. trees in your way.
