    monobloc Lnb Diseqc settings

Hi all . hope somebody can help
I have been helping a friend put a monobloc on his dish (13E and 19.2E)he originally just had 13E everythings gone well until we had to change the diseqc settings (being new to this we both have no idea ) in the settings I have found diseqc 1 to 4 and diseqc committed or uncommited I have put 13E at 1 and 19.2 at 2 but no idea about the other commited or uncommited I think I have tried both but my friends just rang to tell me he has half the 13E channels missing now . does any body understand and can tell me what the settings should be . Thanks

If he only receives half the channels may i ask, are they on the same polarity?ie horizontal, or vertical. If its just one of the polarities, chances are that the monobloc isnt universal.. Or the prob could be fine alignment needed!

to set a monoblock lnb up for astra 19e and hotbird 13e
put the right hand horn of the monoblock lnb in the holder on the dish
and set the dish on horbird 13e as the prime target, in the diseqc motor settings you will see [diseqc 1.0] and [diseqc 1.1] use diseqc 1.0 in this
            section you will see 1 2 3 4 or A B C D use ie: [1] for hotbird13e and get
a good signal then scan the satellite and check the channels are all open
horizontal and vertical frequencies with a good signal, to get astra 19e
you must set the left hand horn of the monoblock lnb slightlt higher than
the horn in the dish mount for hotbird 13e and set the diseqc 1.0 settings
to [2] and ajust the monoblock for a strong signal then tighten the mount
bolts and scan astra 19e and again check the channels open with a good signal, now double check hotbird for a good signal by changing the diseqc 1.0
back to [1] if both satellites have a good strong signal the jobs done
to change satellites you go into the motor settings and change between
            diseqc 1.0 setting>>> [1] to [2]

thanks its all set up now and everything working . reset receiver and it asked for positions just put 13E on 1 and 19.2E on 2 as said in the last reply and it worked although the reason he had lost some channels last night we hadn't acctivated his packages.
So now we have added 9E on a separate dish via a A/B switch but the signal is low so not good quality .Would this be to do with the dish being a sky 55cm (zone 2 ?).?

Would changing the Sky Lnb for a better quality one make any difference don't really want to swap dish .

                hi m8,
a dish that size is only for use on astra 28e even though in good weather you will get signals from the stronger satellite's for eurobird 9e you need a dish of at least 90cm in size.here's a list of dish sizes
this could help anyone setting up a dish in
the u k this gives you dish sizes required
for the satellites from east to west

                75 east 90cm

                45 east 60 cm
42 east 75cm [ some transponders require a larger dish]
                40 east 80cm

                26e ----- 90cm

This is only a guide not all transponder's will be received if you are outside the intended coverage foot print of a satellite,
a lot of satellites can now be picked up with a 60cm & 0.2 Lnb.
