        Hi Standarren
I installed a motorised dish only last week, but before I did I used dishpointer with my LAT and LON to see what sats I could get. It will depend on what sats you are looking for and your location. Use dishpointer.com and see.

        Good luck

Dishpointer will show you with a line to that sat.
You could also look to where your S*y dish is pointing and move your new dish to the right about 15 degrees as if you are standing behind the dish also placing a compass on the ground and pointing to south. From behind the dish east is left and west is right, assuming your in UK or Ireland or Northern Hemisphere.

have a read of this mate.there is also a guide in the stickies.

I"V just read in your other thread that its a fixed dish so if once you have found your 1st sat say 28.2 E as you move towards 0.8W(thor) the dish elevation needs increasing slightly for each sat.and decreasing for the sats the other side of thor.thor being the highest sat if you are near the meridian.and if you move it to the left of 28.2E it will want decreasing.with a fixed dish skew will need adjusting too but as you are only checking line of sight this may not be neccessary.IF you just turn the dish left or right after you have found your 1st sat you will not find any more.
