    New to the non-sky box's

    I been looking about for a motorised dish etc like the ones allsat but never know what to go for etc etc.

    Can anyone help me out?

      an 80cm dish from ebay and dm500s would be an easy start

        hello mate,its just there is so much choice so it really depends on what you want to do.a basic motorised set up would be wall/ground mount,diseqc motor,dish 80cm minimum,universal lnb,satellite cable, f-plugs,clips and lastly the set top box,most are going down the linux route now and if you have IT skills fine,std boxes are still useful though and for a beginner I believe the best way into the hobby,they are cheap and user friendly in particular the technomate range.there are also protek and spiderbox type boxes that connect to the internet to give extra channels.I"d read up a bit more and decide what you are expecting.then ask more specific questions.

          basically wanting what you get on sky but a lot less money wise over the year, i.e sports, movies etc
