panasonic freesat forgein channels

hi guys

i just realigned my dish since we had bad weather but since im still trying to get to grips with the dm500 i decided to plug it into my freesat tv. somehow i managed to pick up polska, hbo and other arabic channels through my tv using the manual sat option. my problem is....even though my signal is pretty strong on tv it doesnt seem to pickup astra 2...confused not sure why its not locking onto satellite or am i pointing to a different satellite and thats why im picking up these polish arabic channels?????????/

maybe dish has moved as freesat should have itvs and bbcs

You're on the wrong sat...You're receiving channels from Hotbird @ 13E. For Freesat you need to be on Astra 2/EB1 @ 28.2E

does this mean i need to move my dish further east to pick up the freesat channels? cos its downloading all the channels from hotbird.. ie italian, arabic and other stuff

Yep, the dish needs nudging east and down slightly.

I too have a Panasonic tv with my old sky mini dish. I had it originally pointing at astra 2 and got all the freesat channels and hd ones. I have now moved this too 13e and picked up all the channels on hotbird. Just move it east slightly and down slightly. What do you use to get get the encrypted channels to clear?

hi guys

managed to get it to tune into 28.2e by your instructions. last night i was on 19.2e and for some reason i was picking up hotbird too. i was getting like 600 channels full of rubbish although i did like the super tennis channel

as for the freesat tv your better going into the other sat option and manually scanning as you can change the freqency and satellites ie astra2 astra1 hotbird or any other sat option so depending on what sat you want to pick up. these tvs will do the same as any receiver box and as far as using a Common interface card that would be interesting to see if this would work with a sky italia or some other type of card......... what a tv

nothing beats a panasonic plasma (with the exception of pioneer now defunct) ive seen led & lcd 3d tvs which i thought were good.........panasonic plasma 3d wow....absolutely blows all these out of the water hands down! so dont waste your money guys on a crappy lcd/led buy a panny plasma

molson wot hd channels r u receiving on freesat or any other sat? im only gettin luxe, itv & bbc am i missing any. when i was on hotbird last night or 19.2e i was getting astra hd too!

BBC HD, ITV1 HD and LUXE TV HD are the only FTA HD channels on Astra2/EB1 at present...BBC1 HD is due to start in november which will also be FTA though.

Kakawak, in your post#9 you say "these TVs will do the same as any reciever box"does that include motorised support for diseqc 1.2 or usals?

shoudlve been more specific regarding the motor setup....unfortunately NO is the answer to that question dick. its a shame it didnt have that option cos it would be the dogs bollocks! apart from that point your dish to any satellite and watch the panny load in the channels
