    Best EPG on linux box

Hi, i currently have a DM500s and the epg is pretty poor so am looking for a box that isnt too expensive but with a really good epg.

Try PLi Jade, (or OpenPLi),with Rytecs epg grabber and either UK XmlTv with mount or Radiotimes UK mounted or to /tmp. However Radiotimes xml is far from consistent of late.

TV guide for Freeview, Sky, Virgin TV, BT TV and Freesat. Find out what to watch on TV today, tonight and beyond on ITV, BBC, Channel 5, Film4, Sky Sports and more.

It works, (if channels mapped correctly), but is dependent on the source that is not very reliable as said, when using RT. You will get a full 7 days on a mount or three to four days tops in /tmp.

I've never managed to get rytec working on my DM500(running PLi) so gave up, but sqlite/RT works fine.

Though personally i think if an EPGs a priority, you're better off forgetting about E1 and going with an E2 box.

Try as said? What image and plugins are you currently using?

I'm using Darkstar II, ive tried installing a skin and it hasnt worked so im not sure ill have much luck installing anything else. Also the box is a clone so i don't want to risk bricking it by flashing it with the wrong image.

PLi is clone friendly, ( the skin has nothing to do with EPG other than appearance), as are the plugins try it and see how you like it. Just make a backup of your current set up, so you can revert back if you like.

Halfway there then. Press blue button - go to software management - downloads - Addons/plugins.

Download SQLite EPG. Map channels according to your need and update with RT if online at the time.

since the demise of evolution project last year there is no more EPG for dm500.

I tried so many of them and they simply dont work. You better get a dm800 clone for a reliable 7 day epg
