another cracking round of games today, and yet again good coverage from tring and sly italia.

tring as been a nice suprise this season with many doubters if they would even show any 3pm games.and we all know the quality of sly italy in the past.

so what is everyone using this season:

* as sly seem to have dropped the english audio and is italian, but the picture is fantasic in HD

* or english but with at best a very average picture on tring

for me tring is been the better this season and a very plesant suprise and the price at the min... tring

Sky Italia.... English audio doesn't bother me in the slightest, tbh. I find it a distraction and dont really understand the need for commentary if you're sat there watching the match.

PQ does however bother me, so Tring gets from me.

totally agree about the commentry doesn't really matter, although you do find that in most cases they pronounce the names in bad english anyway

i always get asked if theres english coms when installing systems and personnally i will always choose a game with english audio track, i wonder if the s.i. cards will be dropped from the servers?? regards mdt

i watched the liverpool match on 13e nova good picture for sd and com ok in english

I've watched all the matches I wanted to see on Cyfra+ this season. The HD picture quality is good and I simply use radio delay to get English commentary when I want it.

some good replies as always lads, as always things come down to personal choice i guess. i aint really ever tried the radio option. although sky germany dont show as many matches they are a great option as fantastic pic HD and they still have english audio. and as mentioned the stadium only audio is a nice touch

Anyone know why italia sky dropped English? Their picture is the best but now without english comms i personally struggle to watch it. I end up with tring with their rainy picture and clear english comms. If there was a way to use the 2 services together same time, one providing picture another sound, then that will be great.

Sky Germany is good as well with english but they only have 2 HD channels and there is only ever one british footy game and one from their local league

Sky it and now sky germany dropped english audio to put off people outside their country (really people in UK) from watching epl games especially at 3 pm, it is as simple as that. why? because the premier league are bunch of greedy people who they want all of us to go to stadium and pay silly ticket prices to watch the matches in the staduim and not on tv.

There is 3 different ways of getting English commentary when it is not avaible from the provider:

1. Download a piece of freeware called Radio Delay. You then use a 2 way RCA output to 3.5mm stereo input jack to connect to a laptop/computer.You connect a 3.5mm Jack Cable from the audio out of a satellite receiver to the audio in of a pc/ laptop. Put the sat receiver onto the channel of the game (Usually either BBC Radio Five Live, Talksport or Absoulute Radio) and use the software to delay it for about 9/10 seconds and you have English commentary. But for this method you need two dishes or a quad lnb and two receivers.

2. Or for those of you who have a basic setup of 1 receiver you just need to access Radio 5 on the internet on a laptop/computer and delay it that way through the laptop/computer speakers.

3. An alternative to the audio delay for English audio -->
a) mute the TV
b) turn on a Foxsat DVR and switch to BBC Radio 5
c) send the Foxsat output to an amp or DVD player
d) press pause on the Foxsat remote
e) wait about 7-8 seconds
f) press play
Altough for this method you do need a Foxsat (or other STB with live pause) and 1 dish @ 28e and another @ 13e or whatever sat the game is on.
