What setup would you recommend?

Now V*gin has stopped play I was wondering about going back into satellite.

The problem is I have not played with it since the D2MAC and seacam days.

I think I am looking for a HD Linux system & fixed dish.

Will I need a CAM, Programmer & cards again?

All I am looking for is an easy to maintain system with good Films, Kids channels and Entertainment.

What satellites would you recommend aligning to?

Skiv, not many Sats are open at the moment via soft cam 39east is still ok but not much else. For the sake of ?50 put a motor on the dish then you can get all the big boys .8 13 19.2 and 28.2.

go down the linux route hd dreambox or technomate (a bit or lot of learning depending on how clued up you are) go for motorised 1m dish, check through the dreambox and technomate sections all the info you need and loads of great guys on here to help you.
