    VU+ Duo -Mount NAS Drive?

Just got a VU+ Duo and got it all set up and working without much problems.

Im wanting to know if i can connect my NAS drive up to it for video streaming. I have a bit of experience with Linux receivers, but havent used the networking on them before. I tried to set it up as a mount, but dont think i did it right. It was stuck on mounting message for about 15 minutes, and i still dont see the NAS drive in the media player. Also tried to connect to a few shared folders on my pc but had no success there either.

Is there any tutorials for enigma2 setting sharing drives? I have been searching the net but havent came across any real noob tutorials.

    Hi,

I am using a VU+ Duo with the vix 1.1 image installed & i use the media player on it.

It's pretty basic but it works! AVI (divx/xvid) playback is a bit jumpy but is acceptible (imo - some will differ!). mkv files play very well, although I've only tested relatively small files so don't know how it works for very large hd content.

The 1.1 image of VIX has a mount manager built in that "just worked" with my windows computer sharing the media files. Once i mounted the network drive, it showed up in the media player and i was able to make it my default location for media.

I had tried previously with VIX 1.0 with mount manager manually installed but it didn't work for me!... i didn't try very hard to resolve it however so it might work with some effort.

I haven't tried with PLI or any other images so havent a clue about those.

Thumbs up for VIX 1.1 though... been very happy with it in the week i've had it since upgrading from dm800 clone

I recently setup a cifs share on my Pc so I could watch downloaded movies on my VU+ Duo. I could not set it up using the mount manager in networking but when I selected browse network it found my PC and all shared folders. You then get the option to mount any of the shares it finds. Not sure if this will work with your Nas drive but it may be worth a try. By the way my image is Open Pli.

Im using the vix 1.1 image. I managed to mount the shared drives on the pc. Though they still dont show up when i select my PC in the browse network. But they are there in the media player.

the NAS im still having trouble with. It can be seen with the browse network, but again cant see anything in there. Still not mounting either though. Think i have the server share wrong possibly. Not sure what to put in there, folder name or full path or whatever. Tried a few and they havent worked, ill keep trying.

Forget all that, got it sorted. Went in to see how i mapped my NAS to my PC and used the same share name from there, and i now have my NAS mounted.

Problem now is i dont see all my video files in either the shared drives or NAS drive, only some. Are there certain types of videos that cannot be played, such as divx?

EDIT: divx are fine, its the .wmv files i cannot see.
