which box to buy, cable or satellite box

Hi Guys, I am new to this world. Need some help as I don't know which box to buy. I had an old Starview box for cable but its not working any more. Which option is better to go for: Satellite box or Cable box as I have both in my house, currently using sky free view? Thanks

In the past I would have always said the satellite route was best but talking to friend of mine this weekend who is not the most pc literate person in the world I recommended a Starview 7. All he wants to do is watch tv and not spend hours and days trying to get his sat setup working. What I said to him is weigh up how much is it going to cost you to get all the channels you want and then compare that against the cost of the box. In most cases the box will have paid for it self after three months and then anything esle is bonus.

Is 'D Box 500S' Good for the job (c/c) ???

ok, Thanks for the advice. I have bought Dream Box 500 S after the advice. Tell me if I made the right decision.? Main reason of me going for this box is to view S*y UK channels. Will that box do the job? I have an active broadband connection at my home.
          Thanks

looks like you have done the right thing in getting the dm500s,and there are plenty of sats to chose from also there are plenty of tutorials here to guide you getting it setup, you will also be able to fta channels on 28.2 sky unless you got a valid subscription or go down the cs road which we are not able to talk about on here.

You made a great choise, The dreambox 500s is the first Linux receiver and still is one of the best, But its not going to be plug and play, Your going to need to do a few tweaking and adjustments to the dreambox500s for it to function correctly with the S*Y channels, But you will also need to take out a subscription through broadband witch we can't talk about on here, for any help setting up the box here is the correct place, But if you are looking to unlock sky, you must go elsewhere.

As i said DK is here to help !

                Regards, Ellis !
