Ok guys heres the problem ,as i am a complete newbie to the sat scene, i have through the sound tuts on the site managed to mount my motorised dish align it ,i had a friend come around with his box and connect up where everything opened up sly sports movies etc all the free sat progs, however when i put my box on (500s) i cant seem to find very much at all just a couple of foreign channels bbc arabic and a couple of german channels i think they are ,Main question realy. I got my box off a friend who upgraded to the 800hd now he lived in Derby ,i live in the Pool ,do i need to wipe the box clean and start again ?ie my settings etc channel list etc etc etc , if i do can anyone point me to the best tut to use for this operation as i realy dont know where to start ,or is it something i am missing elswhere ...........ta in advance ........Gaz

If i can add to that i have scanned sats.transponder etc ,and ask for free to air channels ,actually seen the channel names getting listed ,but on copletion of scan there is nothing there ,although it might say x amount of things added ........once again thanks .........Gaz -
your mates old box will be set up to his old lat and long.. you need to factory reset, then start again, choose the correct setup, many satellites and then set up your GotoX with your correct Lat and Long

it has my lat/long set into it now do i still need to factory reset and start from scratch......thinks i'm gonna need that engineer you are advertising .......

have you got gotoX set up..??
Id start a fresh anyway.. will give you the know how and see how easy it is to get the box to work..
