Connecting a 2nd reciever box to an existing Sat dish?

Just wondering if there would be any problem fitting a 2nd reciever box to a Sat dish, I would be splicing into the existing cable, just wondering would it affect the single strength, having 2 boxes on one cable? Any advice would be great thanks.

If its a non motorised dish then a splitter should be ok. There is bound to be some signal loss but if signal is strong then no probs. If the dish is motorised then you will need to use a dual LNB (not to be mixed up with a monoblock)

much better to just get a new multi lnb an run a new cable to the new reciever, you can get these to run up to 8, takes about 5 mins to fit and they are dirt cheap to buy.

If you use one LNB and splitter then you are limited on what you can watch on the second reciver as both receivers must be on the same polarity. In nutshell splitter is not good choice, go for dual or quad LNB
