    Aspley & Linuxsat...complete rip off's!!!!!

Asi i'm writing this post, i am completely livid with these peoples treatment on replacing a faulty dm800...

i bought the box 7 months ago when it was trading under linuxsat, but as its no onger called that anymore and they have changed it to aspleysatellites, they are refusing to
change it over or even it repair it!!!

there reason is compete and utter stupid, they claim
that they are not linuxsat ANYMORE, hence they wont provide any support to me!

even though its sold by the same guy!

he even had the cheek to say to me ''its not our problem''

    WTF!!!!

and asked me to send the box to some stranger in halifax to get it repaired for ?35!!!!

what kind of service is this? they are refusing to honour the
12month warranty?? even though i hav the receipt!

is anybody here kind enough to offer any advice?

it feels as if though i have just thrown ?189 down the gutter

a few respected members here told me to buy from him...and so i took there advice.

please STAY AWAY from these cowboys at aspleysatellites,
they will just take your money and run.

the only advice I can give is to try the manufacturer direct.or try claiming from your credit card company because if the seller was not a limited liability company and the goods were over ?100 you may be able to get them to get a refund from his bank.

linuxasat aspleysatellites Keep away from this clone seller

I am so sorry to hear the bad news m8. People have been miss guided by recommendation on the forums.

Genuine dreambox you only buy once and clone you buy again and again. The clone sellers have no legs to stand on as they are not legitimate business. They do all the ducking and diving but they will all get caught by dream multimedia GMBH in the end.

The very best thing for you to do is to go to your local trading standards and report him. All you need is the dreambox that you have brought, copy of the invoice and statement showing the transaction.

Because you have brought the Dreambox in good faith not knowing it is clone and guarantee was not back by dream multimedia distributor in UK.

All you need to do is Wright a letter to the distributor, they will confirm that Linuxsat (aspleysatellites ) Mr NZ is a clone seller and then let trading standard?s do the rest for you m8. I always buy my dreambox from www.smssat.biz they are selling Dreamboxes and have been in business for 20 years. Don?t loose your rights by not complaining to trading standards.

Wish you all the best m8. Keep us posted on what happens

many thanks to KMM and dick b

i'm already writing up an email to trading standards
with my proof of purchase, and there is no doubt i was mis-sold something that had no support whatsoever!

        these thieves must be exposed.

        once again cheers guys!

Can't help but feel you're having a dig here mate... I told you that linuxsat sold decent D500 clones.. To which you bought and were happy..

If you choose to buy cheap copies then you have to expect to get what you pay for..

You were advised last year by me about the linuxsat blackbox... Not the D800...

You knew full well they were clones lad.. You get what you pay for

Also what's the problem with your box...??

I've seen people try and return boxes under warranty when they have dropped them or fragged them out by constant flash/reflash...

I've not had any dealings with linuxsat for over a year.. But he was extremely helpful back then..

            beware of aspleysatellite.co.uk (linuxsat)

M8 DicK B point is good. But the problem is the manufacture is in china not in Germany. Chinese have no return policy and will not entertain anyone once you have spent money. Trading standards is the answer for you. Wright them a recorded delivery letter. Send a recorded delivery letter to Mr NZ Linuxsat (aspleysatellites) send a letter to dream- multimedia distributors in UK informing them what he is doing. Their address as follow

            Signal Master Satellite Ltd
            Unit 1A Bridge Road
            Camberley
            Surrey
            GU15 2QR
            www.signalmastersatellite.co.uk
            [email protected]
            T:01276 20916

They will take action as well through their lawyers. Hope you get this sorted out M8. Keep us informed on the outcome.

              ops

              cheers for the reply,

but yu dont know half the story...i have bought 3 dm500's from him...all good!

              and 2 dm800's from him all good....bar 1!

he promised to replace any defected box within 12 months, as he is using another name he claims he cannot provide any support whatsoever!

              hence why i'm so p****d

ofcourse i know its a clone, BUT why say he will replace any faulty products in the first 12 months if you cannot commit to it?

he even went as far as saying ''linuxsat has been dissolved, so this isnt our problem''

i'm not having a dig, i'm just letting everyone know what i'm having to go through!

not even a ''repair'' was offerd, i would gladly pay the royal mail fees, and hope to hav it repaired.

but to have the nerve to say contact someone else in halifax, is taking the biscuit! especially for a fee!

the fault with the unit is that it doesnt receive an IP address from the router.

                i hav tried the following...

                1. reset router...it connects to everything else but the dm800

                2. reflashed dm800 via serial (as nic card doesnt pick up ip)

                3. took the box to another location where router communicates with the dm800 well, but still the same problem, doesnt pick an IP address.

                4. even tried a different image, still no luck.

                thanks.

Obviously the networking card is shagged.. Have you tried WLAN connection with USB..??

He is selling clones so he'll be in the shit whatever.. However if a company ceases trading and the owner starts a new business then I'm afraid what's happened to you is legal..

Your warranty was with Linuxsat.. Not this new company..

I wouldn't get trading standards on the case mate.. You are breaking the law by knowingly stealing encrypted TV...

If you do it, do it anonymously.. Or you'll be in the shit too

one more thing, he claims he doesnt sell dm800's anymore, and that he's dvb800 is different even though
the parts used are the same??

not only that it looks exactly the same too!! lool

                    these are he's exact words!

                        That's because a DM800 is a counterfeit, where as the DVB800 isn't..

It's like selling Ralph Lauren badged polo shirts with labels and bags, counterfeit.. But sell a polo shirt with similar badge but called Rolf Polo, now that's harder to nail down as counterfeit as it's not directly a copy...

                          thanks ops and hatchett

where can i get a wifi usb stick for a dm800?

                          is it a specific one?

and is there a option on the nabilo image to scan for the wireless router?

                          cheers once again.

sorry to hear about that. i purchased 2 from him 4 months ago as i needed them the next day(usually get from tony) anyway, one was faulty and he repaired it and returned it within a week
