Hi every one
I need your help and advice please, I am thinking of buying my husband the VU+Duo.My husband has a Dreambox 500 and I was thinking of getting him a clone 8000hd box for Christmas for him ,but I am impressed with what I have read on your forum and I am thinking more about the Duo. My husband is disabled and I would love to buy the box with the best image and with you tube and windows explorer and with a hard drive ,I would just love to be able to take the VU+Duo out of its box for my husband and be able to have it working for him straight away.
I don?t know if that?s possible to have it done please, I hope that?s ok.

vu is possibly easier to use but dreambox has the best support by far + he knows how are dreambox works. how technically minded are you?

for the price of a VU+ duo you could get a genuine Dreambox 500HD which has no problems

i use the 800 clone and it has no major issues and would recommend it.

I have a DU and a clone 800 as backup. The DU is a gem if you can afford it. A good clone 800 is a good box, but you have to be aware that there are lemons out there, so only buy from recommended places. From my experience if you can set it one of these boxes, you should not have any difficulties setting up any Linux sat box. If you can buy local , you might be able to talk him into putting on a good image.
