sky remote stops working

Hi this is my first time.

my sky remote works to switich on and change channels but after a few mins it will not work at all and i have to switch off the box manually and it works for a few mins again.
does anyone have any ideas

change to new batteries ...first thing to do. have seen boxs work themselves with ir . and simply turn pwer off the box seems to cure it ..if not prob box prob..id say .more than the remote best of luck..

buy another one simple as that

Could be faulty ir on box. Try at friends house to narrow down wether remote or receiver.
