i am new to this satellite lark... but a few members of my family have got dishes up and my uncle revives Serbian TV without a subscription, he can get live epl football matches. basicly what i would like to know is what do i require to get the football and maybe some Italian channels to my home in north London without a subscription... ie.. what box and the dish.

you need either a Dreambox, Spiderbox, VU+ or Protek
each has their own pros and cons.. it will depend on your PC literacy as all the boxes need to have some sort of PC to Box file transfer.. they vary on levels of technical knowledge required..
1m motorized dish is fine for North London

thanks for your quick response... if you had to recommend a box for someone on a small budget which would you recommended..also would the footy be free to air or would i require a card?

anywa. if the box runs from the internet would you need a modded net box or would a standard virgin media box do it? and would the channles keep lagging if its coming from the internet?

Most any standard modem will work fine, there is no lag. Only certain satellite boxes can be used to do this. Google " cardsharing " as this can't be discussed here.Box cant get patched? surly they will find a way to do it?

if i set up my dish with say a dream box 500, would i be able to get football from other countries that have it on fta channels?
if i did use this card sharing method i would get english channels free, but the game i wont is not always on in this country.Comment

You won't get anything for free, you will have to pay for a subscpription or go down the c/s route. We can't discuss c/s here.

I was of the idea that you could... My uncle has got satellite tv and he picks serbian tv and he can watch pl games without a subscription, the commentary is in serbian but I wouldn't minds.he dose not use any carde sharing or a card. So that's were I got the idea from....Comment

Ask you're uncle what satellite he is pointed at and what channel he watches the pl on and then come back here and maybe we can advise you what you would need.Comment
