Fixing a mount to the wall

I have read the excellent post on fitting a motorised dish but I have a question, since my house walls are not exactly vertical or even particularly flat. How do I get the mount to be vertical?
There must be a simple solution, but it escapes me.

never tried it myself but maybe use washers as packers under the bolt heads. or drill your holes for mount and cover the plate area on wall with darbo (use some pva glue in it). Pull the plate in with bolts and level up.
There probably a simpler solution, but hey i never have fitted a dish.

yeah as said above large"penny"washers used as packers between the wall and mounting plate is the usual method, unless the wall is way off then you may have to make a better shim from flat strip steel. either way make sure the pole is 100% plumb when tightened up or you will have wasted your time.

if you cant achieve plumb coupled with a firm fixing is a back garden ground mount possible?

Sadly my house is built into a hill, I would have to go about 40M up the garden to "see" past the house.
My outlook is south facing over a valley, so excellent views of the sky.
I tried a ground mount a while ago in the front garden, but woke up one morning without a dish!
I needed some penny washers a while ago, they were 3p each!
I ended up drilling a hole in some coins and using them.

mine wasnt true either, i bolted the arm onto the wall and then put the spirit level on the motor bracket not the pole and packed out the motor to read level my setup works fine
