Best box to suit my needs

New to the forum but after search on many other forums and here the problem is that there is way to much information so i thought it would be best if i started my own thread.

Anyway, i currently have the standard sly dish and running sly hd. Im sick of paying them silly money so i looked into these boxes and them using cs.

I would like a HD box, ill also be needing a bridge adapter to connect to my router. CS isn't allowed on here so i wont go into that but i will need it.

    My questions are:-

Will my standard sly dish do for CS for only sly world UK HD and setanta?

Whats the best box for me and wheres the best place to buy it, my minds telling me to go for the Dreambox 800HD clone?

Thanks, any replies will be much appreciated.

Im guessing you went for the 800HD?

Seeing as it's only 139 for a HD box that seems very resonable so im probably going to purchase here too, thanks for the link.

If i add a hard drive would that affect the box at all, i mean is it more likely to break down or slow down because of the hard drive recording features? Or does it work just as well with recording?

            Thanks everyone

Not too sure bout the hdd, I plan on using an external one. It's 139, but when you go to checkout DHL cost another 20 odd euro.

Thanks mate, ye i just looked at my total bill was ?172.97 EUR. How long did yours take to arrive? or have you not had it yet?

I took the plunge last night and bought the 800HD, i have a spare external HDD here anyway so i can always use that if needed.

I just hope im able to get it all set up alright, i obviously need to do some more research before it arrives.

                Apart from what it has pre-installed (boot76, gemi5.1, sim2.0)

Is it just CCam i need to install (i know CS isn't allowed to be talked about) but is that all ill need and im good to go?

                Thanks

You will need to add your channel lists and set up you're tuner configuration. There's plenty of tutorials around and we can help here also. Have a look in the dreambox section.

They seem very cheap have you found many reviews on the company selling them?

Couple of boys from another site got the same boxes from them and they seem to be working fine for them, fingers crossed . They've also reflashed a few times, to sus out out what image they want to use and have had no prob's. So, I'm taking a chance on it Andy.

i would be very weary of any site offering boxes that cheap, you may also want to consider the vu+ duo with the vix 1.3 image ..solid as a rock , twin tuner what more can i say.
