It's a scam, the only thing he will get with that box, (if it even exists), is a knock on the door.

on the tipex more like thinners...i wouldnt trust anyone as per top post says cards prob cut,, alot of smack eds round here get them from sky 3mnths free at the moment.. then add there bank account then cancel payment in 3mnths so you think ya gettin a deal when infact your getting your bumm greased up.

I would go and ask to see it working, make sure the telephone cable is not plugged in, and ask to show box office working, also try your bank card(or Supermarket loyalty card in case he has modified it to read you card LOL) in the card slot to confirm its empty.
if he refuses, scam is broken, if you do all that and still working ask him how it is working, tell him you can get him lots of customers if he can explain, the chip used and how it works.
Then say "OH dear forgot my wallet be back in 10mins(NEVER)"
