    dual tuner help?

I want to upgrade to a HD satellite box, thinking of the Duolabs QBox HD Mini Box. This box comes with twin tuner. I want to be able to switch between two satellites ie 28.2E and 13.0E. I have ordered a multi lnb holder which will allow me to have 2 lnbs on it and enough degrees on the arm between the lnbs to use a static dish.

Now this is where I'm geting confused. If the switcher in the Duolabs QBox HD Mini Box switches between tuners then how can the box record 28.2E if the box has switched to 13.0E for me to watch a channel on that satellite?

So, does twin tuners mean that I need one twin lnb set at 28.2E running to one tuner and another twin lnb set at 13.0E running to the other tuner passing through individual switchers first? And, if I want to be able to record and watch either satellite at the same time, do I need 2 cables from each lnb into the switchers which then reduce from four cables into two with one cable coming out of each switcher into each tuner?

I hope I haven't confused you as much as I have confused myself!

i think you can only view and record from the same satellite
ie 28.2e,you can record and watch from that sat,not rec 28.2
and watch 13.0 at the same time

Hi AlanDogg,I have been checking this box out and you can record from one tuner, while watching something on the other tuner,no probs and no switches required. You will only require one cable from each lnb unless you want to watch and record from one sat on different transponders at the same time, this will not be possible unless you run two cables(one to each tuner) from one lnb,so defeats the purpose of two sats from one dish really.Cheers
