    which dish will be better

which will be the best mesh type or solid dish
im thinkin gettin meself a mesh type dish but i got told i be better with
a solid type,i thought the mesh type be better with all the recent winds
we been gettin, the wind can flow thru the dish, where as a solid type
they be more force on the dish where as the wind will have to flow round
    the dish

also ive seen motors on the dishes and they either have the arm facing upwards
or downwards i thought it be more appropiate to have the arm facin downwards
so that the rain wont collect in the arm, what are the best solutions to these

Elric, there are a number of types, I think you're tallking either prime focus or concentric. The majority you will see are concentric. If you want a really good strong signal then go for a gregorian type dish. It has 2 reflectors, the main dish itself and then a smaller reflector in front of the LNB to concentrate the signal even more.

From memory with concentric dishs the holes don't really make a diffeernce to teh signal but are better for high winds in that they don't get blown about as much.

The stir fry sauce drops thru the holes, it has got to be solid.

I voted for solid from the point of view that I see a lot of sly mesh dishes rusting from wet lodging in holes or maybe spray paint not fully coating holes but I have to say that the sly brackets are superior to any that I have had. Rant over.
