Can a sky box be used to align a motorised system

Hi,I was going to have a go at installing my motorised dish this week but don't yet have a receiver.
I was wondering if it is possible to use a sky receiver to align the dish or is there any other way to get your motor satellite dish aligned to the arc correctly without a receiver so that I can just hook up the box when i get it.
    Any info appreciated.

A Sky receiver is only good for 28.2 east.

If you are installing your motorised dish yourself you are probably better off with a satellite meter otherwise you will be in and out the house (or up and down the ladder) seeing if the signal strength has changed on your new receiver.

dont see why not but it wont be as accurate as a usals enabled box.you will have to move the motor via the manual button to 28.5 east on the motor scale(you can do this on a bench)if the sky box does not have enough power to do this you can make a lash up using either a 12 volt battery or battery charger to supply the power and use a short length of co-ax connected between the motor and battery (use a bit of twin flex for the battery end)be very careful not to short anything out otherwise you get a big bang.put the central core of the co-ax to the + side of the power.I have used this method to move motors and it does work.
once you have the motor set to 28.5east and the dish assembled etc;and all connected up you will just have to hunt for the sat as normal.you can connect the sky box straight to the lnb for setting up.

have to read the attachment I"m sending as you only put 28.5 on the motor if you live on the meridian.
