whats best for newbe to sat

Hi guys been on cable for years but after the starview situation im going to satellite. Any advice on which box is easy to set up and use. i was looking at the spiderbox 9000hd with the "gift" but worry what use the box will be when the gift expires. can the box be updated etc any advice would be great thanks

if your happy with sd then a protek 9600ip is easy to use and has auto-updating software. the spiderbox has a service+ system now and has no time limit and its also a much better reciever but for plug/play and watch tv id choose the protek everytime, but thats just me! regards mdt

Probably easier said then done but you are much better off doing a lot of reading and then asking a whole list of questions.
