    satellite dish and box test

    hi
ive just recieved a 1.1 mtr sat dish and a motor
i have a starview combo box witch i took to a friends , plugged in to sly dish , scanned and stored all the free channels.
now i took the box back home put the 1.1mtr dish in the bedroom in front of a big window didnt receive any channels.
signal was up and down between 65 and 94 percent , Q (i think Qam) was 2 percent and didnt go up or down.

why didnt i get any QAM when signal was so high ?
i was just trying to see how easy , difficult it is to get it working before i start drilling holes and putting brackets up.

I don't know much about your box - so not much help on that, but tbh it's not that difficult to get the satellite dish up. Make sure that the mounting is dead vertical in both directions and you won't go far wrong.

As for the dish in the bedroom, from memory dishes don't 'see' much through double glazed windows, I don't recall why but something around the signal not passing through the glass very well, could be to do with refraction.

Make sure you find a south facing wall, with no near obscructions (like trees) and put it up, you won't be disappointed.
