Spiderbox, The future.

had my spiderbox for a few weeks now and I'm loving it, Its got superb HD on it and the changing of channels is fast too, Also easy to load patches in too for the latest gifts and stuff, whats your view on it ?

It's definitely a decent box, HD picture is superb.

Shame it still has that large fanny pad at the bottom right of the screen.

As far as plug and play boxes go, it's a wee cracker.

Do you get any glitching on the gift channels? Thinking of ditching my dreambox for one of these boxes.

yeah a bit now and again but on the whole most channels are stable now and the selection is vast I use my 7000HD every night to watch a film and can watch one right through without any freezing nearly all the time now.its a real value for money box for what it opens and thats a lot.

To be honest, i have had 1 glitch on footy channel once, that's the only glitch i have ever had in a month, and it only lasted 20 seconds, If that!

quick point to note you said freezing and glitching that could also be an internet provider problem,at the moment stuck on a dongle and at times every 30 secs glitch

Nah, it works good with CCCam and as a server just a shame only 8 clients can connect. Had it for 12 months now and still happy with it.

Always wary of gift boxes , you never know how long the gift lasts , not knocking this box , never seen one in the flesh , got lads in work asking for a simple plug an play box so may take a closer look , any downsides to this box ?

seen them working on cccam and they are indeed crap and glitchy
period!!..other boxes on the same net connection work fine on the same server!!
if a box is sold with the cccam function then it should work glitch free like the others i have tried..sadly it doesnt on the spiderbox!!

i too had a similar experience with a 9000hd and the spiderboxs a vgvfm with a excellent hd pq and easy/frequent updates but if i wanted a box for the gift connection only id have gone with a protek. regards mdt
