    Strange question

Sky sub finished so I got an Open S9 HD up and running with a line. Only problem is my 'provider' doesn't show Channel 5...apparently its not a option from Ireland.

The feed into the house from the dish is a double cable. One is in the Openbox and the other was just loose at the back of the tv. I've now put that one into the back of the Sky box and can view FTA channels only,as subscription for premium channels has now finished. I can now view channel 5 on the sky box.

So one cable from the dish is in the Openbox with a line
Other cable in the Sky box running FTA channels only

    Is this safe to do??

It all works but was just wondering if its sensible or not?

I thought one of the channels 5's up there was FTA, but haven't checked lately. Doesn't the Openbox S9 read sky cards, because your sky card should enable you to receive the "freesat form sky" channels, no matter what box it's in provided it can read an NDS card.

Otherwise yes it is safe to do that.
