setting up protek 9600ip as a client

Hi is it possible to set up the protek 9600ip as a client?

Basically i have a dreambox 500s (clone) and a sly subscription downstairs + a protek9600ip

Is it possible to set up the protek as a client, share my sly subscription with my dreambox 500s, and then be able to watch sly channles on my dreambox in a different room?

I did a google search but nothing came up...

it will run as a client via newcamd but you need the old borisT software from 2009 i think as the later versions dont work anymore. my advice would be ditch the 9600ip and get another 500s for about ?45. regards mdt

My protek is quite old, 2009 sounds about right for when i purchased it, how do i know which software its running?

Also how hard is all this to do? Im not that experienced with setting up boxes etc

but if i can save the ?10 per month for paying sky for multi-room it might be worth a shot.....

another guy advised that i could do it with this box:

is the above box ok, it seems to be pvr +HD so effectively i would be able to record sky programs and also watch freeview HD channels in my bedroom?
