Why is it using old firmware then? The version posted up there is from November last year. It was the firmware after that that starded giving clones problems. It's a clone, simple as

this is an old firmware because the receiver comes with this firmware but you can put the latest firmware without having kind of problems like '' your receiver is a clone''

noticed this box on yaoxin.com , think its only about ?60 , seems little money for a hd box ,

clone receiver after update should display an ''clone error'' but not bolt HD receiver. I ordered my receiver from china in alibaba web site.

I don't want to give you any more publicity, all I will say about this is that it is a clone box and I will leave it up to other members to make up their own mind.
This may very well take the latest official firmware but who's to say the next firmware dosent causes problems. The next firmware may have a nice update on the epg ( please ) and this box may not take the firmware and then people will be on here looking for help. The original openbox is a great price as it is, for the few pound you would save buying this I wouldn't take a risk.

hi this is from my BOLT HD supplier

As we know there are some sofeware problem for Openbox/Skybox is:
1. Not compatible with the newest Firmware January/2011. Once flash the box with the new firmware, the screen will display a message: "your box is a clone". then the box no longer function.
2. Cannot watch all SKY HD Channel. And have rebooting problem during switchover among channels sky sports 1,2,3,4 +hd. For this,You can check in some fourm link
Cos for the poor quality of the OPENBOX S9,Thats why our company produce the BOLT HD Receiver,Till now most customer testes it the The key feature of our BOLT HD box is :
1. The firmware version is : HDS2-10-11-30: 1323CMT.
2. Support flash the latest firmware including the January/2011 version. After updated the new firmware, the box keep perfect working situation, smoothly watching all SKY HD channel.
3. ALL SKY hd channels are working good which approved by our european customers. no longer have the rebooting problem as openbox.
