had mine delivered today from china was the orton x403 model first impressions quite good a little bigger than a dm 500 has scart option no on off switch at back came with remote and rca leads not bad for just under ?70.
first impressions menu looks easy to get round picture quality is good on sd and hd did a scan on 28e took a little while but picked things up ok noticed it a bit fiddly to try and get channels in a sort of order but early days .
has software loaded is dated dec 2010 so need to update this it read my sly freesat card straight away and this included pick tv which cccam can not read on my 9100. plugged usb drive in and allthough format in ntfs read pics and mp3 files but no divx or avi files .
remote control seems a bit plasticy to feel and not very responsive to instructions nearly have to get on top off the box to move up or down but early days.
i see there is a function to back up your firmware prior to upgrading but can not see where you can back up your channel list as this needs to be done before you update then you can load it back anyone point me in the right direction how to do this
tried the network picked it up straight away took a bit of time to work out the input function for my line sorted this i added by remote worked no problems with channel changing quicker than my spiderbox,
does not show any exm info that i can see or hop info .
need to google this nasscam feature all in all seems very good for the price i paid at under ?70 for an hd box that does networking features seems a good entry level box
any advise any one can give an saving channels or anything else please feel free to comment

I have this receiver(Orton X403p) here in Africa, and considering what it does I believe it is good value for money.My issue is there is an hd channel which shows picture but not no sound.I've tried all I can including upgrading with the 1st Dec 2010 version( i had the 29 july 2010 version when the receiver was sent to me) but still no audio.Can any one help?ThanksLast edited by captainus; 8 July, 2011, 11:59.Comment

I have the same problem, went into internet then client the enter all the details then press red button store worked but freezing every 5 to 10 seconds, the line worked ok in other boxes, any help, thanksComment

I have a problem with the remote, very slow to respond, I was told that it will get better as time goes by.eh! is that true or is there a new firmware to correct this problem. I have the firmware that the box came with dated Dec 2010. please help. ThanksComment

How can you tell the difference between the old and new remote, the reason I am asking is I notice some software to with old remote and others with new remote.

i have just got one of these cheap off flea bay absolute crap cant get it to scan my motorised sats having to do them all 1 by 1 cant even find out how to put my cline on it think i will go back to tm hd any and any one else have problems with a unresponsive remote got to press 5 time before it works
wish i hadnt bothered gonna stick it back up for sale its brand new cant figure out how to use it rubbishComment

Hey aarmstrong 89 lad.Dont worry,once you get the hang of and update the software this machine is a piece of piss.Just visit the website from patchas post cos theres videos and downloads.Took me a week to sort it all out but now its runnin like a dream kid.Have to say though,you have to point the remote at a certain angle to the reciever for it to work;but at ?80,what do you expect?Comment
