Help, ive tried to work it out but I cant...openbox

Ive moved into a house which has a sky dish already installed,

if I was to buy this:

Openbox S10 HD Satellite Receiver PVR - freesat sky S9 | eBay

    or

Openbox S9 HD USB PVR Satellite Receiver freesat sky | eBay

What do I need to do to get all channels, other then freesat.

I am completely new as this, I have tried looking though the stickys but Im really stumped as to what to do once I get the box.

    Please if anyone could help...

ppl on this forum are advising most ppl to get dm800hd (?150). if you budget cant stretch that far then go for openbox s10. (?65 on ebay - buy it now price)

to get all the channels you would need a valid subscription card, or by cardsharing, subject cannot be discussed on this site. googles your friend, search'cardsharing' or 'premium ccam'

hope i helped, ask for any other info, other user know alot more that me, im still a noob in the satellite world.

      Hi Soopz,

I'm kind of in the same boat, I've just ordered an S10, but I haven't much of an idea what to do with it once I've got it. If I can just get some FreeSat channels that would be a bonus

I do know that the S10 is the new version of the S9, if you google for openbox s10 you'll get reviews that tell you about the difference. I don't know why you would buy the S9 over the S10 maybe someone else here could tell you. Odd that they are the same price.....

I am still reading up about it all (hence why I am here!). If I suss it out I'll let you know.

This was my plan as well - why not put that dish on the back of my house to some use? FreeView in my area won't be going HD for ages yet...

Hmmm.... I was 'told' that you could receive sly tv s10 without cardsharing? if thats not true..does an original subscribed card need to be used to receive the channels? or can a clone of a sub sly card be used?

excuse my ignorance, is it possible to clone an original subbed sly card to be used in the openbox? or could you recommend whats the most popular method people are using?
                      thanks

card sharing is basically using your broadband connected to a server elsewehere, its possible to join a pay server and a free server.. does an actual physcial card need to be used in card sharing on a freee server/? or is it all software/firmware/channel list etc?

strictly speaking no card needed for c/s, strictly speaking, you SHOULD try and share something,
