OpenBox S10 or NOT??

Hi,

Just found this forum while searching for information on the Openbox S10, so these will definately be newbie questions - and I apologise if they have been answered already:

1) - Already have SKY (subscription), but find it too expensive - so was thinking of replacing it with teh Openbox S10 - wise move or not?
2) - Will Openbox s10 support Sky channels?
3) - How woudl I be able to get subscription channels via OpenBox? or is that not possible?
4) - Openbox S10 is stated as HD - is the HD quality good? What about overall picture and audio quality?
5) - I have read elsewhere about cccam files etc...what are these?

Welcome to the forum mate,most of your questions thats a yes,but slow down a bit,
Have a read of the rules do some searching and try and take in as much in as possible and if you get stuck post back with a little less detail
Certain things like servers and cardsharing we cant talk about but setting up the box and ccams we can.

Best advice i can give is look at your budget,do you want hd and then you have a few choices to make.
I was thinking of getting one of these as a second box but as a main box ive a Dreambox 800hd but all depends on budget.
All do the same to a point but others have better addons epg etc thats all.
I wouldnt rush into yet before you have explored all avenues.
One is def worth getting.

Get the s10 mate, very good box. Hd picture is very nice aswell, if you have any problems there loads of people on here to help you

Its a tough decision now...i had my mind set on S10 - but lookign at the 800HD...hmmm..but its like about ?100 more...oh decsions decisions...

Surely the S10 can record onto a USB/external HDD? and has a 7day EPG?

If you buy from China you can pick up and Openbox10 for just over 50 quid and a Dreambox 800 hd for about 110 quid delivered.

@andy91 - not sure if i'm allowed to post external links but i have found a UK site where they sell the S10 for ?69 and the 800HD for ?150 inclusive...its from elitedeals co uk...
Ordering from China is the hassle of returns and all..have been caught short a couple of years back when orderring a phone...so now don't wanna take the risk...

I think i'll get the S10 and take it from there....Andy - many thanks for your advice...i'm sure i'll be back at this forum once the box arrives...

Theres a couple of decent Chinese importers who send out quickly and you get it in 4 or 5 days will pm the website.

you can record onto usb or harddrive, some people have a bit of a problem with it but i have a gambit hardrive and it works fine.epg is the weak point of the 10s its only know and next,tried both boxes 800hd is better long term i think as support is everywere does a lot more but nothing at this stage i wanted, but the openbox was a lot more easy to get your head around , i was given the choice upgrade or stick with the 10s at this stage of learning i stuck with the 10s for all its little faults it does what i wanted .picture quality in hd is very good on both

Sky dish is fine mate,but you only get Astra 28.2 which is SkyUK and FTA.
