    noob where to start

OK i just got an s10 did the firmware upgrade to check whether its a clone or not.Happy to say its original,i then reflashed back to the old firmware as my Skycard wouldnt work with the new firmware.(ANy ideas).
Please bear in mind i am a complete noob to satellite . Now computers i am ok with and can handle networks quite easily so if i ever go the card sharing route i think i will be ok.
Now first things first what sattelite's do i connect to for Sky i am currently a sky subscriber and wish to use my card in the openbox.i know the sky box is more user friendly but i am looking to set a box in the bedroom and just take the card to bed at night to place in box.
And also is there a user friendly interface i can download and install?
Sorry for the questions but i am a complete noob and looking to get a head start before i delve in head first
    Thanks in advance

on remote: Menu--> Tools--> CA Slot Settings--> Edit Smartcard Config

    ? Videoguard2 with Boxid
enter boxkey and card should clear

    to get boxkey

Digital Kaos > Satellite > Sat Dreambox ? Sly White Card Box Key Converter v1.2

i've had the same issue with newer firmware. had to revert back to older firmware for it to work. i haven't test the 15/8/11 firmware yet but the ones released immediately prior to it dont work.

check this thread which contains attachments to the firmwares that do work for me.

Well all going well.I just reverted back to firmware that was installed i am happy with that for now till i get to grips with the thing. Its all these channels all over the place thats the real problem .
On a side note i set up card sharing to see if i could and i was suprised at how easy it is.Its not an option i'm bothered about i just wanted to see if i could.
Now if someone can point me in the right direction to describe what satellite shows what channels that would be a great help.I was hoping to maybe get some foreign football channels that i can buy a card for .Is that possible using a normal sky dish?or will i have to get a bigger dish pointing somewhere else.Maybe a motorised one(Are they hard to set up).Again thanks for help guys its much appreciated
