Just bought a Openbox S10 HD / Need instructions on full setup

    Hi Guys,

I just bought a Openbox S10 HD (PVR) Freesat Satellite Receiver from ebay. I don't have a clue on how to set it up to receive channels. I no it can receive FTA channels without any modification.

In the sale descrition it did state: 29/06/2011 firmware, full UK channel list pre-installed. This is sold as FTA receiver.

I'm not 100 perecent sure on what we can discuss on this forum so I do apologise to the mods.

Can somone PM me on full instructions / step by setp on how I get all UK channels. I will be plugging this box in to my existing SKY dish, without any modifation to the dish.

I have seen a lot of terms like ccam / c line, I don't know what all that means.

Do I need to add any updates or files through usb onto this box to enable me to watch all the UK channels I want to watch.

I have read you can sign upto services, any details and help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

if you need help in setting your open box up then theres lots of tutoriols on this site. use the search feature... secondly if you want to clear all premium channels then you will need a c line or mgcamd line... you will have to search for info on the later part as card sharing discussion is not really allowed on this forum. happy reading

Like i replied in my message to you.No one is going to spoonfeed you all the answers you want.
You have to do the graft, troll through posts then ask for advice if your not sure.
All the answers are there and if your lucky others will help.
Just make sure you introduce yourself in the relevent section and read the rules instead of having your begging bowl out cos you wont get far that way.
      Welcome to Dk

Andy believe you me I have been trying to look through different forums and and posts, but a lot of these forums have rules so people cannot openly discuss how to do thse things, which I understand.

Its easy to look for something you understand, and you know what you ar looking for.

Like I mensioned above the rules around discussing this openly is preventing me to look for the info.

I do want to thank you for the PM.

Come on guys help a newbie out!!! Give me a PM.

Theres nothing in the rules about setting boxes up its the talk about c/s and servers which is the problem so the answers are on the forum but you might be lucky in someone helping you but first you must help yourself.
Get to the stage where you need help and post back.
Ive not got an Openbox so cant help im afraid,

          Andy.

I got the same problem. To quick setup the device I plug the HDMI cable into the TV, and plug the cable fro the satellite in the LNB in. I was able to see the menu and stuff.

I am not sure if the jack label loop is the output for the TV. Apparently from the user's manual, it is. I tried a couple of satellites names, but I am unable to connect. I do have a circular ku-band LNB in the antenna, which I was told that needs to be replaced in order to get the FTA channels. Otherwise the channel signals are too low to be seen, even if you get a strong satellite signal.

It would help if you stated where abouts in the world you are to establish which satellite to scan.
