Can someone please advise on S9 firmware?

    Hi all,

I have just purchased a second hand Openbox S9 which i believe is original from a friend. I am well used to running my linux itgate receiver with edg nemsesis image and cccam 2.2.1. I am a regular contributor on the Itgate thread.

I bought the openbox as I wanted to get a cheap HD receiver for the S/y channels.

The openbox is set up and my active n line is running fine on Mgamd.

On the Information heading my firmware is HDS2-11-01-02:0899CMT.

Is there a more uptodate firmware to be running? The box is stable at the moment so i am reluxtant to update just for the sake of it. Also I am nervoues about updating the wrong firmward and bricking the box.

    Any advice is much aprreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

I'd say, if its doing what you want to do and all seems to be working properly for you then just leave it as it is... Your system firmware is from earlier this year, I think subsequent releases have only had small fixes, an additional scan mode called accurate (which does nothing better imho) theres also been a change boot of logo to "Skybox" and an inclusion of a "clone killer"... I suppose you might want to upgrade if you suffer from reboots when choosing certain channels, but leave it be if working ok...

Thanks for advice. Not suffering from any rebooting issues on certain channels and seems pretty glitch free. I suppose i just wanted to check there was no recent update that were "must have" in terms of major changes/fixes.

        Thanks again!
