You have to get the timing right with sending the file and powering on the box.. After you browsed to the abs file and ticked to include bootloader, click "Next" but then wait about a second before powering on the openbox with the switch on the back... It might fail again, it may take a good few attempts, just slightly vary the delay you use before powering on after clicking "Next" .. You'll get it eventually..

hi thanks but must have tried it a hundred times would the abs file make any difference and hopefully it is a null modem cable, clutching at straws here

I wouldnt have thought the firmware would have made a difference, do you not have a backup of the original? I would probably think trying to get an early firmware release from last year might be the way to go to start with...

I dunno if you have a Null modem cable, if you have a multimeter, test continuity between the pins in each end, if they match on each end then its a serial, if they dont match (they crossover to different pin on other end) then its probably a null modem cable..

For null modem you only need tree pins wired and pins 2 and 3 are crossed:
          on a 9 pin to 9 pin d-type
          2 - 3
          3 - 2
          5 - 5

          on a 9 pin to 25 pin d-type
          2 - 3
          3 - 2
          5 - 7

          If its wired pin to pin i.e 2 - 2, 3 - 3, 5 - 5 then it wont work.

                use loader v2.0.0c
2.0.0b doesn't work and neither will 2.0.0f on basket cases.
It must be the v2.0.0c that asks for the file name on the initial page.

When you have selected the file, ticked bootloader, hit the next button and switched the box on you should see the word Done at the side of where it says Reset STB.

As long as the word done appears, the cable you are using is correct.

Dont just use the back button, close the loader and open again.

Also I have two loaders in different files, they both work but both seem to fail intermitently. Try downloading one from another source.

and on S9 tool; Open Serial Port..
                          Sync to serial port..
Target not connect or target is error status!

i think this box is ****ed and work only with JTAG!I've tried everything But there is nothing.nothing on win7 or XP.

                          RIP!

the loader may only work with a real pc rs232 port.
I could never get it to work with a usb converter.

                              loader

you supply the proper s9 firmware.
