s10 external hard drive runs continuously

I have changed to an S10 from a Technomate 5200 to receive HD channels.
I use an external powered 500GB seagate drive for recordings. This drive has smart power management, and should stand by when not being accessed. It runs continuously when connected to the s10, even when the s10 is switched to standby from the remote. When I used this drive with the Technomate box it behaved properly and stopped spinning when not being used for record or playback, and certainly when the box was off.

Have I missed a setting somewhere, or is this a bug?

Follow up to my last post:
I have now also tried a portable HDD. This also runs constantly, even when the S10 is on standby.
Clicking 'remove USB device safely' in the tools menu turns it off, and I notice it turns off for a few seconds as the S10 is booting.
So I suspect this is a firmware problem. Who do I contact to report this?

P.S. At least I now know that the USB port supplies enough current to power a portable HDD...

Yea, I run a portable on my S9, it correctly powers down when box is put in standby.. That dont sound right that your Box still supplies power to the USB port when box is on standby.. I thought the hardware/firmware between S9 & S10 is pretty similar.. Could it just be your box doing this, I wonder if other s10 users have this same issue you have?
