    S9 lost some channels

Got one of the latest firmwares on the box now. The problem is it has lost quite a few channels now when I do a scan. if I put my motorised dish on 28.2e I get all the channels. so I reset my fixed dish with my horizon meter. set the skew on the lnb to favour all four types of signal vertical high vertical low horizontal high and horizontal low. now I get the missing channels but lost some of the other channels I had got before. have the firmware changed the way the lnb picks up it signal? the older type firmware from 12 months ago picks up all the channels no problem.

Not that clear what your problem is... Sounds like you're saying, you have both a motorised dish & a fixed dish? Your motorised dish picks up all channels ok, but your fixed dish doesnt?

yes the motorised dish is 90cm the fixed is a zone2 mk4 sky dish. the bigger dish pulls in all the channels but the fixed dish does not but if I change the skew on the lnb it swops channels that I can get.

I found something similar, they have split up the Astra 2A, 2B and 2D on to one sat and Eurobird on another, now when I scan I get a lot of channels on one sat, and I have to add the other sat for the other channels. Dont know why, I am sure before hand it was all in one scan.
Just sent this to firmware engineers

A few firmwars ago, on the satellites there was Eurobird, Astra 2A, Astra 2B and Astra 2D all in one satellite. Now for some reason, the eurobird has been seperated. This now means a few channels wont scan in so you need to add two satellites to scan with, and that can lead to mirroring channels.
Ask your engineers to take a look at http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

        This shows Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2D | Eurobird 1 | Astra 2A | Astra 2B | Astra 2D

If you blind scan it will pull in all the channels anyway, the naming of the satellite position makes no difference.. You could name the 28.2e position Monkey Nuts, blind scan will still pull all the channels in from all satellites at that position.. In my opinion theres no point in relying on a preset scan, the preloaded transponders will have been added by some chinese bloke reading a list and some will be entered wrong or out of date by the time the firmware is released anyway...

To me it sounds like your fixed dish isnt aligned correctly

Considering I have fitted 40 plus dishes with a proper differential satellite meter. and I did explain in some detail about the skew. I deffo know it is aligned properly.

ooher, sorry, didnt mean to offend you... But if you say your box works ok on the motorised dish but not on your fixed dish, Im confused as to why you might think its the box or its firmware that is the problem... To me it says the fixed dish isnt working properly..

Yep, definately something dodgy going on with f.w from post may 2011 . All these later fw 's seem to be skybox releases, some disguised as openbox and most suffer with signal issues

oh my, how is it a tuner fault, box fault or firmware fault ?? He says the box doesnt work correctly on his fixed dish, but it works ok on his motorised dish..
