    Openbox s10 lost sound

    Wonder if anyone can help.

Last night remote froze on openbox, had to reboot by flicking switch at the back of the box. When the box rebooted I have lost sound on all channels.

Is there any way I can fix this?

Grateful for any advice to solve this problem

    Many thanks jb000

don't know much about openbox but when flicking switch did you disturb the scart, check scart is pressed fully home

S10 dont have scart... I would make sure you're getting sound from other devices via same TV input to rule out the TV being the cause, then maybe restore factory defaults on openbox, or failing that reflash its firmware..

        Hi there,

There is no scart on the openbox S10, just a hdmi lead.

Tried everything, removed all plugs and put them back in, also rebooted box several times and still no sound.

I am wondering if I upgrade to new firmware this might solve the problem?

The remote has froze a few times but I have never lost the sound before.

        Many thanks jb000

          many thanks

Cables from box to TV secure. I will do a factory reset when I get in from work to see if that solves the problem.

          Will post results

Okee dokey... Bit of advice, before doing factory defaults, first do a system dump to usb, then you'll have your original firmware & box settings to fall back on if ever needs be... If you decide to do a firmware upgrade (again make you system dump first) then be careful & sure your box is original and not a clone & consider the risks, recent firmwares have a habit of stopping the clones working altogether, then its a bit of a chore to recover... Hopefully your box is original box..

About a month ago I had a similar thing happen to me, I was watching BBC1 HD and the audio suddenly went off never thought anything of it until it happened again the next day, all I did was turned off the box by the rocker switch on the back as the remote was un responsive, Been fine ever since may be just one of those things.
My box is also a genuine box and I am using the 02/09.2011 software, keep your eye on it and if it keeps happening take the advice offered above.
