Guys how do I use my sky card in my box

HI guys set my s10 up today but im stuck how do I use my sky card in it as im going to make use of my card as i have to give a
sky 30 day cancellation and wont to use my box till my card run's out. I have put my card in and the box comes up saying about a card but thats it still cant see sky 1 or anything any help would be nice thanks guys

OK bit of digging and found out what I need to do but two problems first I have tWo set's of number on my sky box on the back I have the Samsung hd box and on the back theres two codes SN*************** and a nds/sn*********************
Next problem is im on a mac so cant work out how to get the code.

SO if anyone can help me out that would be brill thanks

you have to type the sn number into a hex convertor, then you type the hex number into your box using your remote control, i did it on the s9 easy enough, cant remember how as i dont have card in anymore to check for you; but the instructions were found on here on how to do it,
If you cant do the hex calculation thing on a Mac; dont you know anyone with windoze who can let you use it for 5 mins.

on the options tab select Settings
Down button and select Details
this will show your 10 digit serial number
take the 10 numbers and convert them to hex (if it begins with any zero's these will obviously not go into calc)
this will give an eight digit number (if less than eight then put zero's in front to make it eight)
this number will be your boxkey

Skybox f3 owner

Hi, started a new thread and was pointed in this direction, this has been the most info i can find about pairing a card. This is the last feature to setup and test on my box.

great info,, i haven't got a clue when it comes to the card pairing and not sure about the part after this. Really want to learn and test this out. If there is a idiots guide could you point me in the right direction please.

My sky card has a valid sub on it. Just wondering what use it is once its in the skybox f3?

Old post I`m replying to, but its the nly one that came through the search function.

STB says Card Inserted....But thats it. I did the hex conversion (scientific mode)....

It should open whatever is entitlements are on the card, maybe you haven't done the hex conversion correctly..
You should end up with 8 letters/numbers if there is only 7 then add a zero in front/1st
I think the only channel that didn't clear was pick tv, but thats fta at the now,

And the "entitlements" should show up on the skybox f3? What do I call it here, skybox f3 or s11?

Not to sure if you can check the entitlements on the openbox, I have a different box now & i use cs-studio to check entitlements on my local card.. I doubt it will work with the openbox though.
Once the card is paired with your box you will know as the channels will clear..
I got the 15 or 17 digit code from the bottom of the original box typed it into a (download) hex convertor & also into scientific calculator on win7 to re-check then typed the number into the box

my bother has been running a couple of skybox f3's for a couple of month now and seems happy enough so i was thinking about buying one to play with. i am already tied up to sky for the next 9 months or so on the full package.

my question is could i cardshare with my subbed box which i'm already paying for in the other room (basically free multiroom)? if so how would i go about it?

im not sure if the openboxs can do internal over lan similar to a spiderbox but if not a linux box will do what you want. we are restricted by the rules regarding what your asking so be carefull with your questions,regards mdt
