Just got an Openbox S11 HD PVR.... what now?

Please bear with me, I'm a complete newb to this.

I done a channel scan but don't know if I chose the best satellite from the satellite list. And I read something about updating firmware and something called a cccam and an epg list update....

I have no idea what I'm doing, honestly. I can't find a guide or anything that has really made me understand this

any help is greatly appreciated.

You probably want 28.2e which is s#y . And cccam compatibility is already on firnware like blade ect so you will need a n line or c line from a server add it to box scan for channels & all should be fine . i dont have this box but all non linux are usaly same.

How do I get these onto the box, do I need to hook it up to my PC?

I have just ordered an s10 HD. would i be able to plug in my sky cable & watch same channels that i currently have on sky (FTA & FTV) In addition Is it possible to watch sly uk/ using c-line or n-line. if so how?

You have bought a FTA satellite receiver, out of the box, and if you follow the instruction manual, plug it into a Sky dish you will then be able to scan for and view FTA channels... The receiver is capable of receiving more than just FTA channels, but discussions about obtaining subscription only TV services illegally cannot be discussed on these forums here... You'll need to google for topics like "Card Sharing" & "openbox cccam" .. There are other forums where such discussions are allowed.. Hope this has helped..

The Satellite position to scan for the UK channels is 28.2e.. After scanning you will find the channels will not be sorted in a typical logical order, you have to manually do this yourself, or you can not bother scanning at all and simply upload a ready prepared channel list onto your box, that will save you heaps of time.. Lots of people make available their Channels lists for Sky UK, it is very simple to install onto the box..

Just one more question, where are the guides for putting the channel lists on my box?

Everthing is done by the box, you only need to download the latest firmware, sky channel list and create a cline using notepad. Put them on a usb flash drive and your ready to go.


Just go to the relevant menu and select the option to Upgrade by USB (best to backup orginal firmware ist by dumping to usb).

It didn't think it would be that simple but I got the EPG's off here and interface upgrade and its fine now. In fact I'm watching Children in Need in HD :-)
