Before you fiddle further, first make a system dump to USB mem stick of your orginal firmware, put it somewhere safe, copy it to another location, never lose it..
1. You wont know if its a clone by indetifying chip ID until after its upgraded from factory firmware.. Try finding a March 2011 dated firmware (if thats newer than whats on it already) as this early release is quite stable, relatively bug free and dont contain clone killer code.. But ask yourself, do you need to upgrade anyway, if its working ok then its usually bst left as is..
2. Download some and try them out..
3. In the system menu somewhere you can select Info, should give you the release date..
4. I will say, Yes they are but its probably best to sub for a better experience, but you'll need to Google terms like "cccam server openbox" and find more info that way as card share discussions not really allowed on this forum, but there are other forums where you can discuss..
