    Openbox S11 - VFormat Problem

    Hi

I own an s9 and all is good. I am now on my second s11 after retruning the first because every time I pressed menu button it would reboot.

I'm now in the same position on the second replacement box and here is the procedure that created this loop that I can now not get out of.

When I was trying to alter TV from 720 - 60 to 720 - 50 I accidently scrolled wrong way. and chose another vFormat. That's it. Now when I boot up I get picture but as soon as I press menu button on remote or on unit it reboots again.

Is this a known fault that I can overcome as I'm wondering if I did the same mistake on the first box I returned.

Dont sound right does it.. Have you done anything else to the box prior to this problem happening? Updated firmware? Installed a channel list?

when I first got it I did use a prog file but it left me with scrambled channels on a cline that I know works. So I factory reset and seemed to have more channels working. So I know after reboot box reverts to 720 60h, and believe it's best to put it on 50h. And my problems have started. I'm basically locked out of factory reset using remote. 1st box returned for exactly the same loked out of factory reset and 80 - 90% certain that was because I did the same thing.

Is there a way to factory reset hooked up to pc?

Ahhh, that old chestnut.... Older crappier firmware was very problematic for rebooting when on certain channels... Strange its hapening on an S11, I wouldnt have thought that model would have early days firmware on it (unless its a clone maybe) Find out the date of whats on your box already, you might be needing to upgrade it... Caution though, care needed upgrading if your not sure if your box is a clone or not.. Before doing anything, backup the original system first...

date is 15th Aug and guy who sold it inssists its not a clone with latest firmware!!!

            EDIT:

According to this website link to chip id's for S9/S10/S11 recent update I do have an original, but I have seen very little improvement on any of the firmware upgrades to be honest.

              Okay next problem.

All HD channels giving 'No signal'. Is this a clone?
