Connecting OpenBox s10 to PC through LAN

Hello everyone! Hope you've all had a good christmas! I treated myself to an OpenBox s10!

I was just wondering if it were possible to connect an openbox to the internet, to access servers and such like through a PC.

Problem is, the tv is far from the router, and I unfortunately don't have an extension to hand. I do however have a WiFi laptop and a spare LAN cable.

So is this possible? And how!! Thanks very much in advance

That should be possible although i have not tested it personally. You will need to bridge the LAN connection of your laptop with the wireless connection.

Google will bring you up some answers on how to set it up. Xbox users employ this method.

Think you need to select "share this computers internet connection " on the lappy mate, depending which operating system its on will determine how to do it, in vista its in "network and sharing " interface , on w7 its slightly more longwinded but still achievable

you will be able to do it but you need the crossover cable not the normal standard ethernet cable..

tried it on w7 but no success. how do we check the internet connection status in openbox?
