    can you use sky eye with openbox?

    Hey Peeps

    Just wanted to know if you can use a sky eye with an openbox so I can view it in the bedroom. I know it doesn't have a RF out but have read somewhere that you maybe able to do via RF modulator, is this correct?

    thankz

      Why not use a Wireless AV Sender Kit, they also incorporate IR repeater.. Something like this...
      [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mini-5-8GHz-Video-Sender-interferance/dp/B003KVMYA0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1325024573&sr=8-6"]Mini 5.8GHz AV Video Sender - No interferance with: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics[/ame]
      You can get cheaper 2.4ghz units, but they suffer terribly from interference...

            But if your bedroom TV is an LCD then RF modulated video would look awful on it. RF modulated is not so bad looking on an old CRT though, especially a little bedroom portable crt telly, but on an LCD it will look dire... The video from a Wireless AV sender will be Composite video, still not great, but will be acceptable on a bedroom TV, and vastly better quality to that what RF modulated video will give..

              Hi

              I have bought a mercury rf modulator. can anyone helps with setting it up? I have connected scart lead from the openbox tv output into the modulator input scart point, connected the coax cable to the modulator tv output, but the eye red light still doesnt work, any help would be appreciated

                  Is it possibly because your Modulator is not outputting any voltage with the RF therefore nothing is powering your Eye..

                    I believe you need the tvlink with psu so that it will power the eye.

                    I have mine on order for my Dm800.

                      or use one of these powered tv aerial splitters like global or slx that allow passthrough as some of them will power the eye too
