It all depends on what bitrate the HD is being broadcast out at.. But roughly estimating, if you allow for 10gb hard disk space per hour recorded then I think you'll see you can still record quite a lot..
if the hd recording is worth saving,you could burn it to dvd and clear up some space on the hardrive.
I've had some hd recordings that were 1gig per 5minutes.
Thanks guys, i guess it's a try and see?? so long as the 400gb allows me to do a couple of movies i can then rip them to my Mac and "badoooosh" were done.

I use osx86 for internet so I did a search for a .ts player.
Mpeg_streamclip 1.9.3b7 will play the .ts files from hardrive and gives you the option to convert to mpeg or whatever.
You need quicktime installed with the quicktime mpeg2 plugin installed.I found that on rapidshare.I use quicktime 7.6 and the streamclip program ran fine.
