    new to this s9 openbox

    hi my first time to all this ,just purchased an 0penbox s9,ive yet to unpack it as ive been too busy,i need to know what this box can do ,how i can improve it and what i need to do to get the best out of the box..i know it has a slot for a harddrive in the front,do i need to purchase one before i even use it ?? like i said i aint really got a clue,but hey we all gotta start somewhere

      ive been reading up them,about firmware and lists and ccams and all different stuff like that ,just wanted some to explain to a doke like me what it all means and how it works ?

        u need.. a usb stick formatted to fat 32..
        you need...

        1: to check if ur box is original or clone..

            Actually there isnt, but it would be good if there was though.. The USB port on the rear is where you would connect Memory Stick or hard drive..

                thanks for the help,first s9 openbox had to go back due to power lead coming loose ....so what are the slots on the front for then ,i was told it was for hard drive ?

                  They are cam slots to read cards... you slot the cam in the hole then insert card into it. Google irdeto cam and it is just one of many cams

                    ok cheers ,just set it up as first one had to go back .....if you owned one and didnt know what you were doing ..what would you do first ,,...?????(apart from read up on it ).. wanna get lots of channels want something to dazzle my mates with,

                      1st check your firmware... if it's before june 11 read on the forum about how to find out if your box is a clone or not...
                      when you have ran that firmware thru the box and if it isn't a clone then you can download the latest firmware.., then down load a decent channel list TP_prog,
                      everything can be found on the openbox forum
                      If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

                        i done what is says to check if its a clone or not and nothing happened .downloaded the programme list and they all messed up ..i really havent a clue what im doing ,should have stuck with a sky box had them all in groups like childrens,hd ,movies and entertainment ..since updating programme list ive lost all that ..shit i useless
