On the s10 factory test menu,(menu,information,11111)
the rs232 input test will verify that you are using the correct cable and the rs232 port on receiver is receiving.Use a terminal program like teratermpro and type something in on the pc keyboard when you select that test.You have about 15 seconds to start typing and the buffer is small,but big enough to get the job done.
verified on the 9-14-2011 version of the firmware,but should be the same on all versions.
Unzip to a folder and run the .exe
start typing,the settings should all be correct to go.
