S9 and dual line from LNB

    Hi All

I have a $LY dish with dual coax running from it, presume for $LY HD plus.

My S9 scans for all channels on Astra satellites and picks them all up but shows no signal on most music and a few entertainment.

Do I need an in-line signal amp for this type of setup and just use on one of the coax inputs?

Tried S9 on a single LNB setup and it works fine

i'd check the tp's are in there 1st mate, go to kingofsat.net find the transponders for those that are missing and check them in your s9, if they aren't there you can add them, if they are then scan just the one tp and see if it finds the missing channel
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

Is it worth trying a signal amp?

          ?

why would you need a signal amp?
If the signal is low, something is radically wrong with the setup.

it worked on other dish.. it's either transponders aint there, signal crap so will need an amp, failing that a lnb.
Start fault finding at the cheap end 1st
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

              work with what you got.
make sure the dish is aimed properly and you only have 1 receiver connected.

yep; anyway, moving along now, like i was saying from the start...... Check the transponders on kingofsat.net for the channels that do not work, if the transponders are not on your box then manually add them in the menu - installation - transponder list, and scan them.. also check the lnb freq. menu - installation - antenna setup, try setting this to universal (9750 - 10600)
If it isn't broke, don't try fixin it..!!!

Played around with TP's today and it appears that all A$?ra 2A South has a signal strength of 10% where as all other Sat's are over 70%

Is this likley to be miss-allignment?

Yeh you could try moving the dish it may be a budgies dick out, if you get no joy then it's looking like lnb is causing the problem and will need replacing. I've seen quite a few with the same problem. Can pick them up for around 6 - 10 pound on ebay
